For architect Andrew Dennis, wood and concrete just aren’t good enough. “Everyone knows stucco cracks, concrete cracks, and we walk on it every day, we accept it, because that’s normal,” he tells Forbes.
So when he was designing his vacation home, thinking about the energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions of traditional cement, he decided to go and invent his own building material.
Three years later, he came up with “GigaCrete,” strong enough to defend the inside from storms and bullets. GigaCrete was designed to be a plug-and-play system, allowing each brick to interlock with other pieces like Legos.
