Houses with Patios Are Moving the U.S. Housing Market

Data from the U.S. Census Bureau revealed that houses with patios made up 22 percent of all houses sold in 2014, CityLab reports.

This is a larger share compared to houses with decks (6 percent) or a porch (16 percent). About one-third of single-family homes that sold in the U.S. in 2014 came with a patio and a porch.
