Whirlpool Introduces Smart Laundry Pair at the Consumer Electronics Show
Whirlpool has added a new smart, front-load appliance set to its laundry portfolio.
The Smart Front Load Laundry Pair, which debuted at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week, offers a number of features intended to cut down the amount of time homeowners spend doing laundry. For example, once filled, the washer’s Load & Go Dispenser automatically takes care of adding detergent and fabric softener for up to 40 washes.
In addition, washer and dryer touch screens guide users through cycle combination and customization options. The machines learn, adapt to, and make suggestions based on the most frequently used settings.
“There are a lot of steps to doing laundry and we see that families are constantly looking for ways to make laundry routines as efficient as possible," says Nelly Martínez Garza, laundry brand manager for Whirlpool. "Our brand new Whirlpool Smart Front Load Laundry Pair is designed to take steps out of the laundry process using leading-edge innovations that keep family care at the forefront."
In addition to its current innovations, the Smart Front Load Laundry Pair will see expanded functionality later this year, when dedicated Smart Laundry capabilities are added to the Whirlpool mobile app. Users will be able to order detergent via Amazon, assign laundry tasks to family members, and get recommended dry cycles to match wash cycles. The app will also include a guide for cleaning various stains.
Also in 2019, users will be able to control the new laundry machines with voice commands via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa-enabled devices.
