Cosentino Completes 2020 Dekton Collection with Avant-Garde, Portfolio
Cosentino’s architectural surface brand Dekton has completed its 2020 portfolio with the latest release of the Avant-Garde and Portfolio Series.
The two recently released collections join the Liquid and Chromica lines, previously announced in Fall 2019, by adding natural stone and matte natural rock surfaces.
Liquid features three colorways: liquid shell, embers, and sky. Created in conjunction with London-based pattern pros, PATTERNITY, the line visualizes liquid as a solid, the company says.

Chromica offers two dark shades: Baltic, a blue, and Feroe, a green. Daniel Germani Designs assisted in the creation of this line.
Dekton by Cosentino is known well for its “ultracompact” surfaces created through the company’s Sinterized Particle Technology. The technology, exclusive to Dekton, represents a faster process of metamorphic changes that natural stone experiences over thousands of years. In the end, surfaces have zero porosity, high UV resistance, highly scratch-resistant, stain-resistant, high resistance to fire and heat, and more, the company says.
In addition, Dekton offers five thicknesses ranging from 30 mm to their newly available 4 mm.

Dekton’s Avant-Garde Series features three styles: Helena, Khalo, and Laurent. The inspiration behind the colors connects directly with the series’ name, aimed at being bold and modern statement surfaces for indoor or outdoor projects.
“These cutting-edge hues were designed to make an impact,” says Massimo Ballucchi, executive director of marketing – America. “Our goal is to offer our customers the most innovative colorways, coupled with the very best performance. We’re thrilled to now offer solutions for luxurious spaces that allow design to take center stage.”
Laurent gets its name from the natural stone Port Laurent, a dark brown marble with intertwined gold veins. Port Laurent is highly desired for its dramatic colors, the company says.

Helena represents onyx, though a naturally finicky material, the onyx look is often sought after for its gemstone-like appearance. Dekton’s offering includes a white and gray colorway with a soft crack effect.
Khalo brings in inspiration from Patagonia, a type of granite with spots of varying colors and texture. The unique stone contains areas of black, pale gold, and coffee brown in Dekton’s surfaces. Both Khalo and Helena are available in the XGloss Stonika Collection, natural stones with an ultra-shine, the company says.
In contrast to Avant-Garde’s glossy finishes, the Portfolio Series makes a statement with dark, moody colors and matte finishes. Three colorways create the Portfolio Series: Bromo, Milar, and Rem.

Bromo’s appearance is much like that of slate, the company says. The metamorphic, fine-grained rock has a natural matte finish and dark color. The deep blue shade of Bromo surfaces reflects these traits, along with its eroded details and delicate texture.
Milar does not have a direct inspiration but is influenced by rusty and eroded materials, Dekton says. The rust characteristic can be seen in the surface’s sight brown tone, mixed with dark gray. The company describes Milar’s brown tones as stippled across the gray surface, for a diffused, blended color.
Completely contrasting its Portfolio Series counterparts, Rem is a bright white surface based off of Calacatta Lincoln. Calacatta Lincoln is the quintessential marble, and Rem’s take includes brown and gray veining with accents of gold.
