For the 14th year, Professional Builder magazine presents the annual Show Village exhibit at the International Builders’ Show, Jan. 18-24 in Las Vegas. The magazine partnered with modular home manufacturers Palm Harbor Homes and IronTown Homes, along with Greenfab — a housing retailer and service provider — and more than 40 building product manufacturers to build three model homes: 2,072-sq-ft Aurora; 2,300-sq-ft Admiral; and 918-sq-ft BASF High Performance Net Zero Home.

International Builders’ Show attendees at the Las Vegas Convention Center will have the opportunity to tour these homes at the Show Village exhibit. The homes are designed for energy efficiency and to appeal to all homeowner prospects. The Aurora is a modern, all-electric home that maximizes space and energy efficiency. The Admiral is a Craftsman-style home designed to accommodate large, multi-generational families, with a guest suite featuring wider doorways for wheelchairs and a large roll-in shower. The BASF Beyond High-Performance Net Zero Home is built to achieve at least 50 percent more enhanced energy performance than in code-built homes — a high-performance home of the future.

The three models present builders with the opportunity to see new products and technology in a demonstration-type setting. Show Village attendees can tour the homes, test the products and talk with the sponsor manufacturers’ representatives.

Each of the homes is designed and built to achieve certification through national and regional green home rating programs, and Greenfab has submitted the Aurora and Admiral homes for LEED for Homes Platinum certification. Sustainable features include triple-pane, low-e windows; non-ducted mini-split heating systems; and wall-mounted radiant heaters. Show Village homes are on display throughout the January 18-24 International Builders’ Show. Traditionally, at the show’s conclusion, the homes are sold and moved to a residential lot.
