The largest of the three Show Village homes at 3,060 square feet, the Treasure Sands model is designed specifically for the resort rental market, with accommodations for multiple families and large groups. The four-bedroom house, which can be built on piers for waterfront applications, is loaded with a variety of living and entertainment spaces and amenities, including a home theater, hobby room, master suite retreat, and 330 square feet of outdoor porch and balcony space.

“To sum it up, this house is a lot of living in 3,000 square feet,” says Mike Wnek, senior vice president of marketing with Palm Harbor Homes. “You don’t normally see this many rooms, including specialty rooms like the master suite retreat and home theater, in this size of a home.”

The first floor features a living room, large kitchen, dining room, master bedroom with a “large, exotic” master bath, master suite retreat, powder room, and utility room. The top level houses a family/great room with wet bar, hobby room, three bedrooms, home theater with bar, 1.5 bathrooms, and a covered balcony. “Every bedroom has oversized walk-in closets,” says Wnek. “It even has an elevator for accessibility.”

“This is really aimed at being a resort house,” says Mike Draper, Florida Division President of Palm Harbor Homes, “but it is also geared toward the move-up market, with the types of spaces and amenities that families desire in a home.”

It’s designed to meet DOE’s Builders Challenge energy performance requirements of sub-70 on the HERS Index and will also be certified through the Florida Green Building Council. Green features include closed-cell spray foam insulation behind the walls; low-VOC paints, sealants, and cabinetry; Energy Star appliances and lighting; low-flow plumbing fixtures; and a high-efficiency HVAC system with zero-leakage, hypo-allergenic, insulated ductwork.

It’s also designed for high-wind, coastal environments, with colorful impact shutters, impact-resistant windows, reinforced doors, and a wind rating of 150 mph.
