Canadian bathtub manufacturer BainUltra took inspiration from Japan and its brand new solid surface material for the debut of its new Celestia and BeOne freestanding tubs.
Both bathtub introductions offer soft curves but differ greatly in their features. BainUltra calls its Celestia tub a “sculpture-like composition” with a “softly feminine aesthetic.” Celestia’s design is simple, but slight waves and curves give it an understated edge. The tub comes in two varying designs that offer the same aesthetic. Celestia 6233 features asymmetrical curves whereas the Celestia 6635 offers symmetrically curved details.

Celestia is also BainUltra’s first bathtub made from its new FineStone material, which consists of refined minerals and pure liquid acrylic, the company says. BainUltra also adds that this material allows for more design possibilities. It’s durable, lightweight, color-resistant, hygienic, non-porous, and easy to clean. It offers greater insulation, which keeps bath water warmer for longer, BainUltra adds.
Users are provided two built-in armrests and an angled backrest. Celestia 6233 is available in 62 by 33 by 24 inches, and Celestia 6635 comes in 66 by 35 by 25 inches in a satin finish.

BeOne brings the traditional Japanese-style bath into the modern world. It’s a compact tub fit for one and delivers a hydro-thermo massage. In Japanese culture, a bath serves as a way to clean not only the body but also the soul, says BainUltra.
BainUltra'a wellness approach with the BeOne bathtub addresses growing interest from consumers in wellness design and creating bathrooms that feel spa-like. Bathtubs have fallen in popularity as large showers have risen in popularity. Homeowners simply have more time for a quick shower than a long soak.

In addition, freestanding baths are seen more commonly in larger, luxurious bathrooms where there are more means to purchase a separate tub and fit it. But the BeOne offers a more compact option for those smaller baths.
BeOne can be purchased in a traditional soaker or the company’s Thermomasseur technology, which includes 40 air jets and its trademarked Geysair hot air system. The company’s Geysair function acts similarly to a geyser releasing hot water. Chromatherapy options are also available. Its compact 46-by-39-by 30-inch size can seat one person upright, helping homeowners carve out some self-care time.
