U.S. residential sector installs record amount of solar power in 2014

In 2014, for the first time, the U.S. residential segment installed more than 1 gigawatt of solar power.
With 1.2 GW installed last year, residential continues to be the fastest-growing market segment in the U.S. – a gigawatt is enough to power 200,000 homes) – and 2014 marks the third consecutive year of greater than 50% annual growth.
