BLANDON, Pa., Oct. 3, 2019 --  BlueStar®, manufacturer of high-performance kitchen appliances for the home–and a trailblazer in color innovation–is expanding its customization offerings with a new  Matte Finish collection, available across its entire line.

Now, each of the company's standard colors will be offered in five different finish options, including new Matte, the existing gloss and three textured options, providing designers and consumers with virtually endless possibilities to create completely customizable spaces with more than 1,000 color choices.

"We expanded the Matte Colors Collection to offer designers and home chefs greater creative freedom, in addition to unparalleled product performance," said BlueStar President Eliza Sheffield.

“The kitchen is the core of the home; it's the place where everyone congregates, and where people show off their culinary arts and their creative abilities, whether they're a professional chef or a budding home cook," said Sheffield. "BlueStar has provided this unbelievable palette – with truly phenomenal options for customization – so that designers and homeowners can break the mold and do something different and very personal.”

BlueStar® appliances, including ranges, refrigerators, wall ovens and ventilation hoods, are available in almost any color imaginable. While classic hues and neutrals never go out of style, each year a selection of on-trend colors annually stand out to interior designers and other tastemakers. Looking ahead to 2020, experts predict that color choices will stem from the individual and the feeling that is evoked by a particular color. Homeowners and designers alike are seeking warmth, with 'wellness' cited as a driving inspiration by many trendspotters; colors such as blue and green also awaken the senses by celebrating nature, and the sky and earth.

As part of the 1,000 colors launch, BlueStar® collaborated with acclaimed Interior Designer Eric Cohler to identify today's top color trends in Matte.  According to Cohler, in addition to the color of the appliance, the   finish can be just as crucial in setting the tone for a kitchen space. Cohler's top five color trends for appliances for the coming year are:   Light Green/RAL 6027, Daffodil Yellow/RAL 1007, Capri Blue/RAL 5019, Water Blue/RAL 5021 and Salmon Pink/RAL 3022.

"When the Matte finish is applied to some of these trending hues, it softens the color to a more natural, low-tech look, so that the water blues and salmon pinks are even more calming and quiet. A smooth, velvety matte surface provides a rich, warm tone that is soft on the eyes and forgiving on fingerprints," said Cohler.

"As a designer, I love that BlueStar offers virtually any color and unique finishes like Matte. Whereas a glossy sheen sometimes can make a strong color appear a bit too harsh, a Matte finish can actually soften bolder looks. You can even go dark with blacks, deep purples, ruby reds or cobalt blues for a feel that's opulent yet relaxed," added Cohler.
