Economical Home Design Tips to Preserve Affordability Amid Rising Interest Rates

As homebuyers confront rising interest rates and above-average home prices, builders and designers play an increasingly important role in preserving affordability while still delivering must-have home features and amenities. In order to give homeowners the most bang for their buck, Housing Design Matters suggests eliminating superfluous formal spaces, creating two-story plans that are 100% stacking, limiting garages to one car, and using narrow footprints to maximize density.
