Living in a major U.S. city can be costly, and living on your own, without roommates, can be prohibitive. In an effort to make single living in urban areas easier, micro-housing was born.
According to NPR, one way of living small can be seen at Boneyard Studios in Washington, D.C. is a tiny house community that sits on a small alley lot. It was created to help its owners utilize underused urban space in a creative community. Micro apartments are another option. They're tiny, as well, but they’re growing in popularity as more single people want to live alone yet be near the amenities a city has to offer.
