Millennials on a Brighter Path to Homeownership

The New York Times shares data from several housing researchers to explain why the housing industry and the public can be more optimistic about Millennials becoming homeowners.

Employment opportunities are more abundant for young adults today, as their unemployment rate as of January was 9.3 percent compared to 14 percent in 2010.

Moreover, mortgages are within reach, and surveys on Millennials have found that homeownership is on their radar, as many say they are saving up for a house.
