Dallas Is a Battlefield for Homebuyers

Real estate brokers and sellers in Dallas say that, as they sift through dozens of offers, sightings of other buyers stalking moving vans or lurking around the corner of estate sales are not uncommon.

The area’s real estate agents are put through choices not much different from college admission counselors, as they read through stacks of personal letters which Dallas Magazine describes as each “straining for the right tone, the right mix of humor, sentimentality, and obsequiousness.”

Home prices in the metro area have spiked as demand far outweighs supply in what Dallas Magazine calls “The Great Dallas Land Rush.”
