Buyers from China spent more on U.S. homes than any other international buyer, Barrons reports. And many of them buy them not only as an investment, but also as a primary residence.
“About 39% of home sales to Chinese in 2014 and early 2015 were for primary residences, while another 7% were bought for children while they attend university in the U.S. Only 23% were bought as residential rental properties,” Barrons reports. “Of total sales to Chinese buyers, 35% were in California."
