Denver Millennials Are Postponing Homeownership

Millennials in Cincinnati, Atlanta, Denver, and Washington, D.C., expressed a higher interest in buying, a survey by Apartment List found.

On the other hand, Millennials in Miami, St. Louis, San Francisco, Boston, New York, and San Jose, Calif., expected to become homeowners at a much lower rate, showing a trend that in markets where housing costs are high, Millennial renters are less inclined to feel the need to buy.

According to The Denver Post, 81 percent of the surveyed Millennial renters in the Mile High City, which posed a peculiarity relative to the other markets because despite being one of the most expensive housing markets in the nation, Millennial renters there still aspire to become homeowners.
