Single Women Account for 23 Percent of First-Time Homeowners

USA Today profiles the story of five single women who purchased their first homes, a sample of a growing demographic of homeowners.

According to the 2014 National Association of Realtors Profile of Homebuyers and Sellers, single women account for 23 percent of first-time buyers and 16 percent of repeat buyers, USA Today reports.

Meanwhile, single men make up 15 percent of first-time buyers and 8 percent of repeat buyers.
