Installing home products can be a tedious and time consuming process that can also result in costly and unsightly errors without proper directions from the manufacturer. That’s where assembly kits come in handy.

These installation kits help simplify everything from deck railing additions to tile touch-ups with pre assembled materials, hardware, and easy-to-follow instructions.

Stone Pillar Kit System

The mortarless stone veneer category of siding products from Silvermine Stone was originally created by a mason who was looking to simplify the installation of manufactured stone veneer products. Since their inception, the stone pillar kits have evolved to provide all equipment needed to construct an 18-inch by 18-inch stone pillar with either 36-inch or 48-inch height options—no measuring, cutting or calculating needed, the company says.

Each pillar kit contains a pre-cut, ready-to-assemble polymer (no-rot) frame, frame assembly screws, pillar stones, stone mounting fastener screws and a pillar cap. The pillar’s installation first involves a frame assembly using the included screws. From there, the pillar stones are attached to the frame vertically using the included Silvermine Stone fasteners until the desired height is achieved.

Deck railing kit

Inspire Railing from Fortress features twist and lock balusters and pre-assembled stair panels designed to streamline the installation process. The railing’s pre-assembled stair panels and pre-punched posts also speed up the install and offer greater consistency along the perimeter of a deck.

Inspire Railing is made from aluminum and comes with a powder-coated finish for UV protection and corrosion resistance.

Sliding door hardware kit

Johnson Hardware’s 2610SC Soft-Close Wall Mount Sliding Door Hardware Kit is ADA-compliant and includes single-direction, bi-directional, and retrofit options. Johnson’s Soft-Close feature slides doors open and shut gently with a fingertip touch, and its 2610SC hardware holds doors up to 165 lbs, the company says.

Possible applications include closets, storage rooms, or other space where square footage is limited and a wall mounted sliding door will suit. The track can be cut down to fit smaller door/opening widths, but a minimum 24" door width is required for soft-close/open operation.

Shower and tub kits

Six3 Tile's Shower & Tub Surround Pro Kits are designed to cover a shower or tub surround for a watertight seal. The kits can be installed on any flat and clean surface, including over existing ceramic tile. The Pro Kits feature a tongue and groove design that connect pre-cut tile panels for a moisture-free barrier.

In addition, Six3Tile recently launched its Backsplash Pro Kits, a ceramic tile alternative consisting of five pre-cut tile panels, packaged in a single box.
