Ikea’s Sektion line of kitchen cabinets topped all categories in J.D. Power’s 2018 Kitchen Cabinet Satisfaction Study.
The study, which surveyed 2,325 customers who purchased kitchen cabinets within the previous 12 months, was fielded in March/April 2018. It determined cabinet manufacturer rankings based on five factors, including design features, operational performance, ordering and delivery, price, and warranty.

The 2018 results found that customer satisfaction has risen in the cabinet industry as a whole, with overall satisfaction rising to 839 (of 1,000) from 817 in 2017. J.D. Power says this rise has resulted in cabinet manufacturers creating a comprehensive front-to-end experience for customers.
“Having the ability to be a one-stop shop in the cabinet industry truly has its advantages,” says Christina Cooley, director of home improvement and technology practice at J.D. Power. “By creating a seamless process for the customer from ordering through installation, manufacturers can ensure the customer is both delighted with the process and the cabinets, creating an outstanding experience overall.”
Ikea’s Sektion cabinet brand received 872 points in customer satisfaction, followed by Thomasville (849) and American Woodmark (846). Ikea performed the highest in all five factors assessed in the survey. Seven other cabinet manufacturers were mentioned in the survey.
