11 Latest and Greatest Bathtub Introductions
Bathtubs continue to be necessities for today’s homebuyers and showpieces for the bathroom. The latest bathtub releases continue to add to the fixture’s capabilities.
Tubs remain the centerpiece of the bath, and although data from the National Kitchen and Bath Association shows demand for larger showers, resulting in the removal of bathtubs, not having a tub can make or break a buyer’s decision.
The National Association of Home Builders’ “What Home Buyers Really Want” 2021 survey found 74% of homeowners surveyed said it’s either essential or highly desirable for a shower stall and bathtub in their primary bath. This ranked number two on the list of overall essential or desirable bathroom features.
More than half of homeowners surveyed in Houzz’s 2020 Bathroom Trends report said soaking in the time is their ideal way to relax. New technologies enhancing the wellness features of bathtubs continue to roll out, such as chromatherapy, air-jet options, and integrated arm and footrests. The full-body experience of bathtubs is no match for showers, either.
And although shower introductions continue to raise the bar for bathrooms, its design impact falls far behind that of a stylish freestanding tub—which is preferred to a shower-tub combo by the majority of homebuyers. Marbles, unique textures, and rich colors can be on full display with a design-forward bath.
If you’re on the hunt for a new bathtub for an upcoming project, consider these 11 fresh releases featuring enhanced technologies and modern designs:
