Smart Lock, Monitored Security Brands Announce New Partnership

August Home has integrated its smart lock technology with home security services from Protect America to offer complete connected home security systems to consumers.

The partnership pairs the professional monitored home automation, GPS, and surveillance products services from Protect America with the August Smart Lock Pro. Homeowners can use Protect America’s Smart app to lock and unlock their smart locks using a smartphone or Amazon Alexa.

The Smart Lock Pro can be used with any existing cylinder deadbolt, avoiding any changes to the outside of the door, and allowing homeowners to continue to use existing keys. It also integrates with Wi-Fi, HomeKit, Bluetooth, and Z-Wave Plus.

One of the door lock’s most innovative features is Auto-Unlock. Using the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS on homeowners’ phone, the door will automatically unlock as users approach.

“Using two states, Home and Away, the August Smart Lock Pro knows exactly when to lock or unlock your door so you don’t have to think about keys or opening an app,” the company says in a press announcement.
